| Backun | Backun MoBa Bb in Cocobolo and silver (new-price today: £6500) A realtively new company, Candian made Backun clarinets are less known than it's European counterparts, but has really flexed it's muscles, particularly in the professional market. If you are looking for a professional Buffet or Selmer, you might want to do some research about Buffet first. This was their top of the line clarinet when I bought it, though they have since come out with two new 'Custom' (professional) lines. The MoBa targets professionals, but with a good price like this. In a double case with two barrels. Condition: I bought the clarinet new from the, at the time, offical Backun dealer in Norway, in about 2015. | Buffet | Selling a mint condition Buffet Tosca A which has sat in its case largely unplayed since I purchased it in 2005. My career took a slightly different path than planned so it is now surplus to requirement and seems an awful waste of such a nice instrument (and a fair bit of cash) to have it sitting around unplayed. It is a really lovely example of the model and plays wonderfully freely, almost like a Bb to blow. Intonation is impeccable as you would expect from such a model. There is barely a mark on it - certainly nothing that I can see and comes in its original hard case and both barrels. It has a Charles Bay thumb rest on it which could easily be swapped out with a regular one but I would recommend trying it first. They are brilliant and can be easily moulded to your thumb shape. They are widely regarded by many as possibly the best clarinet Buffet has ever made,and only discontinued because manufacturing costs were much higher. They were made during Buffets golden era and the wood was matured for much longer than todays clarinets, so are much less prone to cracking. They play very similiar to an RC but with a much bigger sound. I have owned the clarinet for about 20 years.It is in fantastic condition with as new silver plated keywork.
